About the Vet Student

Hello there, and welcome to askavetstudent.com. I am Jennifer, and I am here to answer your questions and provide you with education about veterinary diseases, disease processes and prevention, and some tips and tricks for getting the most out of your pet’s visit to the veterinarian.

I am currently a veterinary student at a well-respected College of Veterinary Medicine in the US, with a Baccalaureate degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California at Davis. I have worked my way up from pet store clerk through management, from veterinary hospital receptionist to technician, from kennel cleaner to assistant dog trainer, and from Junior College dropout to Doctor of Veterinary Medicine candidate. My range of animal experience includes reptiles, birds, rodents, dogs & cats, and horses & cows.

Every position has shown me how important owner education and understanding is in promoting the health and well-being of animals. My goal with this web site is to provide a place to go for deeper understanding about the disease that is affecting your pet. I will also address how best to communicate with your pet’s doctor so that you can better work together as a team to maintain your pets health.
